The Chorleywood Signal Box project, established formally in 2020, exists to provide the community with something of value by using the empty locally listed building at Chorleywood station. Following consultation with local residents, the project aims to make it a museum of educational interest containing memorabilia associated with the railway. In particular, it would show how the railway, opened in 1889, impacted the development of Chorleywood.
Since the start of 2021 we have begun to look for members to assist the project to grow, both “arm chair” members and those who want to get more “hands on”. Money will be needed to buy materials for displays, provide insurance Etc.
As a member you will receive an e-news letter every quarter and also you will be able to book priority personal visits to the box when we have finished setting it up.
